Bravo for bromeliads! Otherwise known as air plants, these humidity-loving plants are easy to care for, even if you don't exactly have a green thumb. The charmingly spiky Stiletto Tillandsia (aka Tricolor Melanocrater) has pointy leaves that are deep green at the base of the plant with tips that can turn a deep red when exposed to bright light. This Central American species looks especially fabulous nestled in a terrarium or brass himmeli (sold separately), but will be happy anywhere with plenty of air circulation.
These plants look lovely wherever they're displayed, but take their name to heart: do not use them with potting soil or dirt! For best care, mist your air plant with a small spray bottle or soak in water for 15-20 minutes no more than once a week.
